MH&LA "MISSISSIPPI HOSPITALITY CERTIFIED" PROGRAM
Mississippi is the Hospitality State, with caring hoteliers, superb properties, and wonderful entertainment and recreational venues, yet many of our Visitors and potential Visitors are not sure what to expect, especially in the aftermath of Katrina. Our Visitor is curious, sometimes doubtful, as to whether or not our products and services are up to specifications – not ours, but theirs. Of course, that is what counts – expectations met – an established level of Quality Standards, and a continual pursuit of excellence. It is all about the Visitor Experience!
Compelled to bring a statement of reliability to Mississippi Hospitality, your Hotel Association - MH&LA – is in the process of creating a Hospitality Certification Program, which will drive more Guest traffic to your door. This promises to become a marketing opportunity for all who participate.
Mississippi Hospitality Certified is a State-wide initiative, which will integrate all the tourism related businesses and entities: the State Tourism Division, area CVB’s, and your Professional Associations. The focus will be on our Lodging operations, where dreams are made (or not), and where the memorable Experience is delivered, hopefully.
This all inclusive Program begins with a Professional Hospitality Assessment of the individual Lodging business. The review process considers, quantitatively, performance on the Lodging product, service and facility, evaluating quality, cleanliness, safety, comfort, customer service and the physical condition of your property. This will result in a score or rating – Hospitality Certified - which is the Lodging’s entry into the Program marketing benefits. With plans to recognize other compatible Rating and Inspection Services, such as AAA and Mobil, MH&LA’s alternative, in-house resource shall be Hospitality Performance (www.hospitalityperformance.com). Plans include providing Mississippi Destinations and constituents appropriate Training and Development Programs to support this ascension to Hospitality Excellence. Those who successfully meet Program requirements shall have their achievement broadcast on the Internet and in print.
